May 1, 2020 - Update from Pastor Cotton

Dear Victory Bible Baptist Church Members,

Considering the recent changes to the governor’s “Stay at Home” order and the ongoing “first phase” process of reopening our state on May 4, I want to address a few things with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, we will continue to have Online Services ONLY through Sunday, May 3rd.

We will begin the process of returning to a full schedule of services by having a Sunday Morning Worship service only at 10:30 a.m. on Mother’s Day (May 10).  There will be no Sunday or Wednesday Evening Service at this time.

We will evaluate conditions over the course of the next two weeks to determine the phased-in return to all our regular services.  An update will be provided at that time.

We will also continue to practice social distancing, good hygiene, no handshaking or any other forms of contact.

If you are considered high risk, please do not feel pressured to attend just yet. You may continue listening to the services online.

If you or anyone else in your household is sick, please continue to stay at home.

I realize that folks may have a host of questions regarding different activities that need to be rescheduled.  (Church Summer Camp, VBS, etc.)  Right now, let’s just start having services again, and then we will address these things as the pandemic settles down and we have more information.

I also want to address the possibilities of changes to this announcement.  We will adjust our schedule according to any potential changes.

On a personal note, I would like to thank those who have been faithful in their giving, praying and participating in our online services. Thank you to those who have prayed for me personally, my family, and our staff here at Victory Bible Baptist Church.  I would like to especially thank those who have been so gracious as to text, call, or send cards of encouragement during this time. You will never know how much that has meant to me.

We love you all!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Allen Cotton

April 1, 2020 Update from Pastor Cotton

CHURCH MEETINGS

In our continued effort to protect the health and safety of our congregation and in accordance with President Trump’s Social Distancing extension through April 30, 2020, and Florida Governor DeSantis’ Stay at Home Order for the entire state through April 30, 2020, we will be making the following changes to our Church services through April 30, 2020.

Effective April 5, 2020, Sunday messages will be posted on the Victory Bible Baptist Church you-tube channel (Victory Bible Baptist Church FL).  We will also be working toward posting the messages on the church Facebook page (Victory Bible Baptist Church) and our church website (vbbcfl.org).

The decision not to meet for the Sunday morning worship services has not been made lightly. I believe the government’s stay at home orders are well founded and are for the well-being of our citizens after the recent increase in Coronavirus cases in Escambia county.

Although we will not be able to gather physically for Sunday worship services or other services during the week, I will still be available for any questions or needs that may arise, so please do not hesitate to contact me.  I know this is a difficult situation for all of us!

TITHES, MISSIONS and OFFERINGS

Many of our members have been faithful to give of their tithes and missions despite this pandemic, for which I am grateful. We need to keep up with the responsibilities of our staff and building, as well as maintain our commitments to our Missionaries.  We do not have the ability for on-line giving at this time, but we will be working toward establishing this method soon.  In the meantime, please feel free to mail your giving to our post office box (P.O. Box 18303, Pensacola, FL 32523).

I will be at church on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. during this time should you wish to drop off your tithes and offerings. In order to maintain the appropriate social distancing, an offering plate will be on the foyer table.  The April prayer list will be on the table as well if you would like to pick one up.

As with previous announcements, these arrangements are subject to change based on mandates of our government and health officials. We will update these changes as the health situation evolves.

In addition to my messages on you-tube, I would also like to recommend the following churches you may enjoy worshipping with via livestream.

Faith Baptist Church, Olathe, KS - Sermons Online

faithbaptistolathe.org

Berean Baptist Church, Springfield, MO - Livestream
bereansgf.org

Southwest Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK - Livestream
southwestbaptistchurch.com

Please remember each other as well as your pastor in prayer during this difficult time. I will update with additional information as it becomes available.

May God bless you and keep you in His Loving Arms until we meet again.

Your Pastor,

Allen Cotton
